Dear Pleasant Valley Middle Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

Mike Maloney photoAs always, we appreciate your support and encouragement with your student to assist them in achieving great things. Our students are the reason that we are here and we place their learning and safety at the highest level!

Yes SAFETY!!!

The beginning and ending of the school day can often be hectic so all the more reason we must be especially diligent in keeping students safe. In the midst of moving hundreds of students and staff into or out of the building to or from buses, parents are also dropping off or picking up students in the parking lot and hurrying off to appointments. With all of the hustle and bustle taking place, we need to remember safety practices.

  • Drop off students no earlier than 7:45 AM.
  • Please drive slowly in the parking lot.
  • Remind your child to follow all bus rules and driver expectations.
  • Students need to wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
  • As always, if you should see or hear anything that you feel might be a safety concern, report it to our school’s office immediately.

Attendance is crucial in the educational process. We have a GOAL this year of a 90% or higher attendance rate for the whole school. Let’s make it a priority! We can do this if we all work as a team! Continuing on the attendance theme. In order to excuse absences from school for other than District-approved reasons, they must be approved by the principal at least two school days ahead of time to allow for arranging of make-up work and the correct entry of  attendance. Please call the office at 360-885-5500 or send a note with your student to the office to pre-arrange an absence. We are aware that many families schedule vacations or other activities with which the updated District schedule is now in conflict. Pre-arranging the absence will allow for family time without missing out on crucial school work. Thank You!

In closing, we want to thank all of our amazing VETERANS for their service to our country. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
